avie’s tinkering with the spacenet sets off flags in an autonomous security system millions of miles away from observer iv, and it sends a bot over to investigate and destroy. the gang (avie, lila, june, kaneda, maple pepper) eventually commandeer it and realize there’s a few more on the way. avie scrambles to sneak back into the system and reset the flags/clear the alerts while everyone else clumsily pilots one part of the mecha each and try to fight them off
avie flips the final switch and kills the ssh session which triggers all the bots to fly back to base; everyone can eject in time and float back to observer except for June, who isn’t a robot or a goopcreature and who’s sitting at the robot’s core. she gets beamed away with the bot.
